3rd District Democratic Congressional nominee Tim Steele will square off in a
series of three debates and one forum with incumbent Representative Vernon
Ehlers.
At 4:00pm on Tuesday, 24 October 2000, Steele and Ehlers will meet in the
studios of WGVU-TV in the Eberhard Center at the downtown Grand Valley State
University campus. This debate will feature a number of journalists each
asking questions. This debate will be taped for playback at a later time on
both WGVU/WGVK Television (Channels 35/52) and on WGVU-FM (88.5)
At 12Noon on Wednesday, 25 October 2000, Steele and Ehlers will meet at The
Peninsular Club, 120 Ottawa NW, Grand Rapids. This luncheon debate will be
moderated by Fred Dilley, president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association,
asking questions submitted by audience members.
At 7:00pm on Monday, 30 October 2000, Steele and Ehlers will be joined in a
forum by other candidates for other offices at City High School in Grand
Rapids.
And at 7:00pm on Wednesday, 1 November 2000, Steele and Ehlers will debate
Foreign Policy matters at The Ford Museum in downtown Grand Rapids. Dr.
Charles Strikwerda of Calvin College will moderate, and will ask questions
submitted by the audience.
