3rd District Democratic Congressional Candidate Tim Steele and his primary
opponent, Gregory Frushour, have agreed to a series of debates in July.
The first debate will take place on Wednesday, 12 July 2000 at the studios of
the Community Media Center, 711 Bridge NW in Grand Rapids. This live show
will air on GRTV beginning at 8:00pm. Michael Sak is the moderator, with
Steve Harmon of The Grand Rapids Press and Eddie Rucker of WGVU-FM as
panelists.
A second debate will take place during the week of 17 July 2000. Exact date
and location are still to be determined.
A final debate will take place on Friday, 28 July 2000, again at the studios
of the Community Media Center. The show, part of their Teledemocracy
Project, will air live on GRTV beginning at 7pm. The moderator will be Jeff
Smith, who will ask his own questions as well as field questions from the
studio audience and callers to the show.
Additionally, the candidates have agreed to a number of joint appearances
throughout the District, schedule permitting. Details on these joint
appearances will be forthcoming.
